P940 Modular Power System

Highland Technology is pleased to introduce the P940 Modular Power System, a versatile instrument designed primarily for testing in aerospace and other demanding industries.

The P940 ofers a flexible, configurable solution packaged in a 3U, 16” deep aluminum rackmount enclosure. It supports up to eight plug-in power modules, which can be mixed and matched to suit a wide range of demanding power applications.

Module functions include AC/DC power sources, electronic load power dissipation, and relay power distribution. Designed with power density, multi-function modularity, and high channel count in mind, the P940 is ideal for complex test environments requiring scalable power solutions.

Features include:

  • 1000 watt universal-input 48-volt power supply that is distributed to all modules
  • Speed-controlled fans with distributed internal airflow for module thermal management
  • Rugged, reliable design for aerospace, defense, and industrial testing
  • Mix-and-match modularity: Integrate power, measurement, and control
  • All modules include full measurement capability. Each module’s measurable values (such as output voltage, current, and frequency) can be read remotely via Ethernet/USB
  • USB and Ethernet interfaces with a consistent, intuitive command set and precise event timing
  • All modules include microsecond-resolution user-programmed parameter sequence tables
  • The P940 can also be controlled manually via front panel color LCD and controls
  • Four BNC connectors are provided to monitor selected voltage and current waveforms
  • Atomic strobe allows groups of settings to be initiated simultaneously in one or multiple P940s
  • Front-panel LEDs indicate power on, communications activity, BIST status, and errors

Modules

Up to eight I/O modules can be installed in the system, with filler plates covering any unused rear-panel slots. Each module plugs directly onto the controller board and is fastened to the rear panel using two screws.

Modules include their own I/O connectors, which are accessible from the rear panel of the enclosure.

Configured System

The P940’s mechanical layout and embedded system architecture supports seamless field installation of modules and firmware upgrades. Each I/O module includes a nonvolatile ID and calibration table.
