Inelco Hunter is pleased to confirm the availability of the Amphenol Socapex MIL-DTL-38999 Series. The range includes circular connectors and cordsets, fiber-optic connectors, PCB connectors, and Ethernet and USB solutions. MIL-DTL-38999 Series connectors are high-reliability circular connectors designed for harsh military applications, and are also suitable for demanding aerospace and industrial systems. They feature a 360° self-locking coupling, superior EMI shielding, and high corrosion resistance, and operate efficiently between -65°C and +200°C.
The connectors have high-speed signal and power contacts for use in electronic systems and ground vehicles for battlefield communications, with high bandwidth and fast data transfer, capable of supporting multi-gigabit data rates. The range of connectors is extensive, supporting a multitude of specific military applications. As military equipment becomes more compact and lightweight, interconnect solutions must meet these requirements while still providing reliable performance in challenging environments – therefore, MIL-DTL-38999 connectors’ rugged, compact design is ideally suited. MIL-DTL-38999 Series connectors are available in a wide range of shell materials and finishes, with 48-, 500-, 1000-, and 2000-hour salt-spray plating options. The shell materials include aluminum, stainless steel, and composite materials. The connectors feature high-density contact arrangements within a miniature circular shell, providing high coupling durability. The high-density contact arrangement provides 100% scoop-proof pins to prevent damage and is designed to withstand extreme shock, exposure, and vibration.
The MIL connectors combine high reliability, moisture and corrosion resistance, and IP67 environmental protection, with some models offering IP68 protection. The connectors operate over an extreme temperature range of -65°C to +200°C and feature excellent EMI/RFI shielding (65dB min at 10 GHz) and high vibration/shock resistance. The self-locking connector system features a triple-start threaded coupling, and the copper alloy crimp socket contacts are gold-plated to ensure high reliability.
