Transient Voltage Suppressors offering MIL-STD Circuit Protection for Aircraft Applications

Inelco Hunter, distributor for ProTek Devices, has announced the availability of a new set of transient voltage suppressors (TVS) offering MIL-STD Grade circuit protection, primarily aimed at aircraft applications. The new PAL704-P15K36 and PAL704-P15K36T devices provide circuit protection in 28V aircraft applications, such as the DC power supply. These TVS devices are well-suited for other applications, including environments where induced lightning on rural or remote transmission lines is hazardous to electronic circuitry.

These TVS meet MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-19500 standards compliance, are RTCA DO-160G standards compliant and are 100% tested. The PAL704-P15K36 and PAL704-P15K36T are 15kW silicon TVS devices, typically operating with a minimum source impedance of 0.25 Ohms. They have a peak pulse power rating of 15,000 watts for a 1 MS waveshape.

The PAL704-P15K36 is designed for high current short peak pulse transient applications, with an approximate weight of 30g. Meanwhile, the PAL704-P15K36T is designed for extended peak pulse transients over one millisecond and weighs approximately 48g. Both parts have a flammability rating of UL 94V-0, and the operating and storage temperature is -55°C to 150°C.
