The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of uniquely identifiable physical objects or “things” embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity. The opportunities for increased connectivity are greatly accelerating as the number of devices is projected to triple from 2014 to 2020. The IoT will allow interconnection of devices across a wide spectrum of systems which will, in turn, enable significant increases in automation and optimization.
