Rugged edge computing brand – Cincoze has launched its new external EMC solution, the Power Protection Module (PPM), to further strengthen protection against the electromagnetic noise common in industrial environments. Electrical noise can cause communication errors, erratic signals, unexpected reboots, and downtime, affecting operation and production efficiency; unlike traditional designs that build EMC protection into the computer, the PPM uses a more flexible external architecture. Beyond strengthening EMC protection, users can purchase it as needed and integrate it with existing Cincoze industrial computers, allowing them to upgrade protection at any time to suit their application environment and system configuration. The first two models, the PPM-I360 (360W) and PPM-I180 (180W), accommodate different computer power consumption levels and configurations, enhancing EMC protection in smart manufacturing and industrial automation applications.
Strengthening EMC Protection for Stable Operation from High-Interference
In industrial EMC protection, Electrical Fast Transient (EFT) is one of the most common immunity test items and a frequent source of interference affecting equipment operation. Components in industrial equipment, such as switches, relays, and motors, can generate fast electrical transients on power lines when starting, stopping, or switching, disrupting the normal operation of industrial computers and peripheral devices. When paired with the PPM, Cincoze industrial computers can further suppress or filter EFT transient interference at the power input to meet industrial EMC standard (EN/IEC 61000-6-2/61000-6-4) test requirements, improving long-term stable operation in high-interference environments.
The PPM is an optional external design that customers can add based on their site environment and project requirements, eliminating the need to preconfigure additional EMC protection at the time of initial purchase and making deployment and system configuration more flexible. Installation is just as simple: a slide-rail design lets you quickly secure and connect the PPM to the computer, streamlining installation and immediately strengthening the computer’s protection in high-interference environments.
